Our Campaigns

The goal of ‘Solar Supports Ukraine’ campaign is to collect €300,000 to finance the installation of solar on schools and hospitals, solar off-grid trailers and solar powerbanks.

Donations will be used to buy solar equipment that is directly and urgently needed on site.

We will support projects from our implementation partners, the RePower Ukraine Foundation and the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation. Currently, they include:

⦁ Solar PV for 3 Ukrainian hospitals

⦁ Mobile solar trailers for hospitals municipalities on liberated territories

⦁ Rebuilding Irpin school with solar

⦁ Solar chargers & powerbanks to help stay connected

⦁ RePower Ukraine Charitable Foundation

Solar PV for 3 Ukrainian hospitals

Members of the solar energy association of Ukraine have already completed solar PV projects for 2 hospitals in Eastern and Western Ukraine. They supply electricity in case of power shortages, and provide green electricity.

Mobile solar trailers for hospitals

Mobile hospitals need reliable power supply to provide surgery and other urgent services to people. These mobile solar trailers can be used also by municipalities affected by war, instances where the power supply is absent for months while the grid is damaged and cannot be restored.

The KNESS group has developed mobile solar trailers with electricity storage systems. The solution is designed and focused to help doctors and volunteers.

Each PV Sich trailer includes 2.25 KW PV panels and 7.2 KW batteries.

Currently, almost 30 Sich Smart PV solar stations have been installed. The first batch of Sich Mobile PV installations are already generating electricity for field hospitals in Eastern Ukraine. The initiative was implemented by the ASEU in partnership with the German company BayWa r.e. Global, a member of SolarPower Europe.

Rebuilding Irpin School with solar

On 25 November 2022, the BSW launched their ‘Solar Aid’ campaign which aims to aid the reconstruction of schools in Ukraine. They began by installing a solar power system with a battery storage unit at School 17 in Irpin. The PV system was financed entirely out of donations from the German solar industry.

Due to the war in Ukraine, more than 1939 schools have been damaged today, and most do not have electricity.

The cost of 1 school = 20 kW solar power plant with electricity storage systems is €40,000.

Previously, BSW partnered with the Energy Act for Ukraine Foundation on the "100RESforSchools" project, which aims to equip 100 schools with solar stations.

Solar chargers & powerbanks to help stay connected

Today more than 1.5 million Ukrainians are left without electricity, heat, internet and communication lines.
Doctors are forced to provide medical care in the absence of electricity in the frontline territories.

We supply energy equipment to field hospitals, doctors, and civilians in the frontline areas.

This energy equipment includes power banks, lanterns, medical lanterns,
small mobile solar panels with electricity storage, 3-5 kW mobile solar systems and others.

⦁ Autonomous power stations from 0.5 KW to 4 KW peak with battery - 30 pieces

⦁ Solar mobile power plants with batteries from 2 to 5 KW peak with battery – 10 pieces

⦁ Solar Chargers from 18W to 100W - 100 pieces

⦁ Powerbanks over 10 000 mAh - 2000 pieces
